Azerbaijan: journalist Ismayilova opens source of information on recruitment of oppositionist
The man who had revealed an alleged internal service report of the Ministry of National Security (MNS) of Azerbaijan, which refers to the recruitment of an oppositionist, was Ramin Nagiev, a former investigator of the MNS. This was reported on February 21 by Khadija Ismayilova, an investigative reporter and an employee of the Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty. According to her story, she has revealed the source to the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Azerbaijan with the source's consent.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Khadija Ismayilova, an investigative journalist of the Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty, figures as a witness in the criminal case instituted in connection with the material, posted by her on the Facebook. Prosecutors believe that this material revealed some state secrets. Khadija Ismayilova was forbidden to leave Baku and Azerbaijan for the period of investigation without prior notifying her investigator.
On February 21, Ismayilova again, for the fourth consecutive day, was questioned at the Investigating Department for Grave Crimes of the GPO. During the interrogation, she disclosed her source, she told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
