"Adyge-Khase": students from Syria did not participate in anti-Olympic action
The public organization "Adyge-Khase" of the Republic of Adygea has addressed Yuri Kokov, the Acting head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) asking not to admit the deportation from Russia of the students from Syria, accused of involvement in the anti-Olympic action. The letter says that the young men just occasionally occurred in the vicinity of the picket.
The "Caucasian Knot" wrote that on February 7 in Nalchik about 20 people with Adyg flags and an anti-Olympic poster tried to hold a picket near the monument to the 450th anniversary of reunification of Kabarda with Russia, but were detained by the police. Occasional bystanders occurred among the detainees, including three Syrian students Atakhman Ayal, Stas Yaser and Abaza Nart Ramzi. According to the February 14 decision of the Nalchik court and the department for visas and registration, they should be deported from Russia within 15 days.
The students occurred guilty because they stopped near the place, where the anti-Olympic action was held; they saw Adyg flags, but knew nothing about the action itself and – moreover – did not take part in it, says the letter of the "Adyge-Khase" to the acting head of the KBR.
The letter emphasized that "the deportation of young Circassians to Syria, where the warfare does not stop and people are killed every day, is contrary to the idea of justice, humanity and compassion."
