Armenia sets up solidarity committee with Ukrainian Maidan
On February 24, a group of Armenian public and political figures announced the establishment of the Euromaidan Solidarity Committee to provide "political and moral support" to Ukrainian oppositionists and disseminate the truthful information about events in Ukraine.
The Euromaidan Solidarity Committee includes 12 persons from Armenia, USA, France, Ukraine and Belgium. The Committee has addressed the international community asking to "take urgent adequate measures to protect Ukrainian citizens from illegitimate authorities".
The members of the Committee demand "to condemn and give political and legal assessment of the crimes committed by the President of Ukraine and its retinue, as well as introduce tough economic sanctions against them".
Besides, the Committee has offered to establish an international tribunal to investigate the actions of Ukrainian officials and facts of interference of other countries directed at committing crimes against the state of Ukraine and its people.
