Advocate: Leninkent resident, detained by law enforcers, is tortured in Makhachkala prison

In prison of Makhachkala, law enforcers beat Arthur Djanbatyrov, a resident of Leninkent. This was reported by his advocate Aziz Kurbanov.

According to that the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", on February 21, Arthur Djanbatyrov, a resident of Leninkent, was detained by law enforcers near the building of the Pension Fund in Makhachkala.

On February 23, advocate Aziz Kurbanov met Arthur Djanbatyrov. According to the advocate, his client is subjected to violence. The law enforcers demand that he should confess possession of weapons and ammunition and give false testimony against persons, known and unknown to him.

Earlier, Arthur Djanbatyrov has already appealed to the HRC "Memorial" with complaints that he was unlawfully persecuted by law enforcers and beaten. According to Arthur Djanbatyrov, on November 18, 2013, he was beaten by policemen and men in civilian clothes who on that day tried to hinder praying to believers of the Leninkent mosque "Alty-Boyun".
