At border between Dagestan and Stavropol Territory, driver was detained on suspicion of possessing ammunition
Driver of a car stopped at the border between Dagestan and the Stavropol Territory was detained after policemen found ammunition for rifled-bore weapons in his vehicle. This was reported the GIBDD (road police) of the Stavropol Territory.
The truck was stopped at a stationary check point of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) in the Neftekumsk District of the Stavropol Territory. Policemen thought that the driver was behaving suspiciously.
In the fuse compartment, the policemen found a black parcel, which contained three wrapped boxes of ammunition for rifled-bore weapons; however, the driver failed to explain to the policemen how the ammunition got into his vehicle. This is reported by the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" with reference to the press service of the GIBDD of the Stavropol Territory.
The detained the driver was brought to the District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), and a criminal case was instituted against him for illicit trafficking in arms and ammunition, the STRC (State TV and Radio Company) "Stavropolye" reports.
