Former district deputy head in Volgograd Region fined for frauds with housing for orphans
The court has sentenced Ruslan Dadaev, the former deputy head of the Kalach District of the Volgograd Region, to a multimillion fine on charges of taking bribes when buying apartments for children-orphans, said the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to the investigation, Dadaev and Olga Kiselyova, the former head of the department of custody and guardianship of the education committee of the district administration, in December 2012-January 2013 received bribes from three apartment owners for assistance in buying housing by the administration for children-orphans. Those apartments were difficult to sell because of bad location or for other reasons. The defendants pleaded guilty.
The former official was sentenced to a fine of six million roubles to be paid in instalments over five years, says the website of the Volgograd Regional Prosecutor's Office. Kiselyova will have to pay a fine of 480,000 roubles.
