Lawyer: Evgeny Vitishko convoyed to Tambov Region
Evgeny Vitishko, an activist of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" was convoyed from Krasnodar in the Tambov Region, says the response from the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of Krasnodar, received by Vitishko's advocate Marina Dubrovina.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, 2013, the court changed Evgeny Vitishko's conditional punishment of three years for damaging the fence around the so-called "summer cottage" of the Krasnodar Governor Alexander Tkachov for the real imprisonment; and Vitishko was convoyed to a settlement-colony outside the Krasnodar Territory.
Marina Dubrovina told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the specific colony, where Vitishko will serve his term is unknown.
The case of Vitishko caused a strong public outcry and attracted the attention of the Human Rights Watch and the Amnesty International.
