Armenia: participants of "Million Mask March" have detention extended

The court has extended the detention for the participants of the "Million Mask March" by two months. Relatives of the detainees accused of resisting the police, are dissatisfied with this decision and believe that it was dictated by the court by the country's top authorities.

The "Million Mask March" was held in Yerevan on November 5, 2013. After the marchers entered into confrontation with the police, the organizer Shant Arutyunyan and 19 other participants were detained.

The court decision will be appealed against at higher instances, but relatives "do not harbour much hope on any fair decision," said Arthur Pogosyan, a brother of Alek Pogosyan, a figurant in the case.
