Krasnodar hosts rally in support of Crimea and resolution of Russian authorities
According to various estimates, the march and subsequent rally held in Krasnodar in support of the Crimea, brought together from 10 to 12 thousand people – activists of political organizations, Cossacks and budget-paid employees. The action was organized by the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) party and the "Kuban Orthodox Union".
The rally adopted a resolution to approve the decision of the Russia's Federation Council to satisfy the request of President Vladimir Putin to send troops to the territory of Ukraine. The organizers of the rally said that all the political parties and public organizations of the KrasnodarTerritory are ready to help the Crimea.
In its turn, on March 1, the Board of the International Society "Memorial" spread a statement, treating the decision to send Russian troops to Ukraine as a crime not only against Ukraine, but also against Russia.
"The reason for the armed invasion is called 'a threat to compatriots' lives.' We know from the past experience that this is a common justification for aggression. This rationale is false. On the contrary: the deployment of troops would threaten our compatriots – they will be seen as representatives of the aggressor," says the release of the "Memorial" that was received by the "Caucasian Knot".
