Rostov Region districts bordering on Ukraine put under high alert regime
All the operative and rescue services in the districts of the Rostov Region, bordering on Ukraine, were put under the high alert mode since March 2.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the mass protests and change of power in Ukraine, the inflow of citizens from this country into the Rostov Region increased dramatically. The regional authorities have declared that they are ready to accommodate Ukrainian refugees.
The operative services of the Rostov Region are conducting the round-the-clock monitoring of the Russian-Ukrainian border on highways and field roads, as well as in steppe localities. The units of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) and Housing and Utility Services were reinforced by specialists and also transferred into the round-the-clock operation.
According to official statistics, only from February 27 to March 1, some 12,000 Ukrainian citizens crossed the border checkpoints into the Rostov Region, said the statement posted on the website of the government of the region.
