PFPA believes that its office was blown up intentionally (+video)
The explosion in the office of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) may be an attempt to put pressure on the party because of its oppositional activities, said Gezyal Bairamly, the deputy chair of the Party. According to her story, now, the PFPA can be moved out under the pretext of the emergency condition of the building.
The explosion occurred last night in a warehouse of the two-storey building located in the Narimanov District of Baku at No. 8 Talyat Shikhaliev Street. The building houses the PFPA office. The blast smashed out the windows and damaged the walls; furniture and other property on the ground floor were broken.
Ms Bairamly does not rule out "an intentional explosion aimed at hampering the party's activities." In recent days, the pressure on the PFPA has increased, she said.
In his turn, Siyavush Novruzov, the deputy executive secretary of the country's ruling party "Eni Azerbaijan", said that "any provocation is out of question." "It's just negligence. Such cases happen through negligence in state-owned institutions either," said Novruzov, as quoted by the "Modern.az".
