Azerbaijani authorities demand from PFPA to vacate the building housing its office
Baku authorities are evicting the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) from the building in the Nariman District of the capital, where it has its office, on the grounds that the house is in the state of emergency after the explosion and needs demolition.
Let us remind you that at night on March 3 an explosion occurred in a warehouse of the two-storey building located in Narimanov district at No. 8 Talyat Shikhaliev Street. The building lost its windows and has damaged walls; furniture and other possessions were broken on the ground floor.
This morning, the building that houses the PFPA office was visited by Shakhmar Ibadov, the first deputy chief executive of the Narimanov District, accompanied by policemen. They demanded that the PFPA vacate the building, saying that it is in disrepair and needs to be demolished, said Gasan Kerimov, the head of the Supreme Majlis of PFPA.
The PFPA treats this demand as politically motivated and pursuing the goal of restricting the activities of the party.
The Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) saw the cause of the explosion in a violation of safety operation of gas appliances.
