Volgograd rally in support of Crimea was 5000 strong
The rally in support of the Russian-speaking population living in the territory of Ukraine, which was held on the Mamaev Kurgan, near the Lake of Tears, gathered about 5000 persons.
It was organized by the City Council of Veterans.
The event was attended by activists of veteran, youth, church, Cossack, military-patriotic and nationalist public associations, who held posters: "Volgograd is against fascism!", "Ukraine, stand like Stalingrad!", "Compatriots of Crimea, we are with you!", "Freedom for the Crimea!" and "No nationalism in Ukraine!" The audience was addressed by veterans, Cossacks, public militiamen, civil figures and members of regional Diasporas.
Everyone who came to the rally received a George's ribbon. At the foot of the Mamaev Kurgan, in front of metal detectors, volunteers collected signatures in support of the sister-city of Sevastopol.
