Said Amirov and Yusup Djaparov have nothing to do with MPADS, advocates assert
The defendants in Said Amirov's case have nothing to do with the man-portable air defence system (MPADS), presented by the prosecution, said the advocate of the dismissed Mayor of Makhachkala. In his turn, the state prosecutor said that not all the evidences had been presented yet, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports from the trial underway in Rostov-on-Don.
Let us remind you that the case of preparing a terror act, where Said Amirov and his nephew Yusup Djaparov are the figurants, is being considered by the North-Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don since April 24. According to investigators, the defenders had planned to use the MPADS to shoot down a passenger aircraft with Saigid Murtazaliev, the head of the Russia's Pension Fund for Dagestan, onboard.
Neither Amirov, nor Djaparov have any relationship to the weapon; and it is not just because of the erased marking on the launch tube, said the advocate Vladimir Postanyuk.
"There are still significant tangible evidences that we have not yet explored – they will be presented by the defence. Although even today we believe that our state prosecution has presented all the evidence of our clients' innocence," he concluded.
