Krasnodar ecologist Evgeny Vitishko reprimanded in colony, activists report

The Krasnodar ecologist Evgeny Vitishko, who is serving his term in a colony in the Tambov Region, was reprimanded again – this time for not greeting a colony official, his supporters reported on July 24.

"During his meeting with relatives and friends, one of the colony officials came into the room. Evgeny had greeted him 10 minutes before that in the corridor. The official made a remark to him; and after the meeting Evgeny was informed that a protocol was drawn up on this subject; and yesterday a reprimand was adopted," Vitishko's supporters wrote on July 24 on his page in the Facebook.

According to rights defenders, during his term in colony, Vitishko has received several reprimands, while he has sent at least three complaints to the prosecutor's office about violations of his rights in the colony.

In his turn, Gennady Kornienko, the Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation (known as FSIN), said that the information about a biased attitude to Vitishko in the colony was not confirmed during the check.
