Chechen woman suspected of financing members of Gakaev brothers' IAF

A female resident of the Vedeno District of Chechnya is to appear before the court on charges of financing members of the illegal armed formations (IAFs) that were parts of the Gakaev brothers' grouping. Earlier, investigators have already instituted and stopped criminal proceedings against the woman. However, the investigation was reopened at the request of the Prosecutor's Office. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by an official from the Prosecutor's Office.

"It has been revealed that in 2010, Arubika Suleimanova, a resident of the Vedeno District of Chechnya, gave cash in the amount of 10,000 roubles to her close relative Ruslan Suleimanov, an active member of an IAF, who was put on the federal wanted list. The money was spent by militants for their needs," said the official from the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.

He has explained that Arubika Suleimanova was detained. However, later, the investigating authorities suspended the investigation into the criminal case "under some unreasonable pretext." "At the request of the Chechen Prosecutor's Office, the investigation into the criminal case against Arubika Suleimanova was reopened," the prosecutor has stated.
