FSB: Ukraine hands over eight wounded servicemen for transit across Russian territory

On July 28, the Russian checkpoint "Kuibyshevo" located on the border of Russia's Rostov Region and Ukraine's Donetsk Region, received eight Ukrainian wounded servicemen. They were delivered to the Russian party for transporting through the humanitarian corridor back to Ukraine, said Vasily Malaev, the spokesman for the Border Guard Department of the FSB for the Rostov Region.

According to Malaev, among the eight Ukrainian soldiers two are in grave condition. The servicemen delivered to the Russian party will return to Ukraine through the checkpoint "Matveev-Kurgan", the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Ukraine has asked Russia for help in transporting wounded and killed servicemen across the territory of Russia, since doing it across the Ukrainian territory is unsafe. During the transportation through the humanitarian corridor, all the wounded persons receive medical care, the ITAR-TASS reports.

Let us remind you that at night on July 28, at the checkpoint "Matveev-Kurgan", Russian border guards handed over nine wounded soldiers and the bodies of four casualties to their Ukrainian colleagues. The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on July 26, the Rostov section of the Russian-Ukrainian border was crossed by more than 40 Ukrainian servicemen; and two of them applied for asylum and declared their intention to ask for Russian citizenship.
