Victims' testimonies in "Million Mask March" case confirm defendants' innocence, says the defence

In Yerevan, at the trial of the participants of the "Million Mask March", the court questioned six policemen, who figure in the case as victims. All the six have asserted that prior to the march held on November 5, 2013, they were not familiar with the defendants. The advocates believe that the victims' testimonies are in favour of their clients.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at the court sessions on July 11, 16 and 18, the policemen-victims presented their evidence. According to one of them – Andranik Arakelyan, policemen prevented the exit of the marchers to the roadway in order to enforce law and order. Another policeman Gegam Khachatryan said that he was attacked by three activists.

At the session on July 30, all the victims stated that during the march, policemen urged activists not to go into the roadway, so as not to disturb the public order.

The victim Razmik Khalafyan said that "marchers failed to obey the policemen's lawful demand not to get into the roadway." Khalafyan also noted that on that very day he heard one of the activists shouting: "Beat him, he's a policeman."

After the session, Ara Zakaryan, one of the advocates said that the victims were trying to testify close to the frames of the available video, which is beneficial for the defence.

The next court session is scheduled for August 1.
