"EcoWatch": Krasnodar ecologist Evgeny Vitishko can be transferred to common-security colony

The decision to place Evgeny Vitishko in a punishment cell is the first step to transfer the ecologist from the settlement colony to a common-security penal colony. This opinion was expressed by Vladimir Kimaev, a member of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch).

According to Vladimir Kimaev, Evgeny Vitishko "bothered" the administration of the settlement-colony by helping prisoners file complaints about the actions of warders treated by prisoners as unlawful. Besides, the ecologist himself filed a lot of complaints.

"Evgeny was placed in a penal ward on far-fetched pretext for alleged 'storage of personal belongings in an undisclosed place'," said Andrei Rudomakha, the leader of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus". He has reminded the activists that the ecologist had already faced reprimands.

Let us remind you that in May 2014, the Prosecutor's Office filed a request to abolish the decision of the Tuapse Court to sentence Evgeny Vitishko to imprisonment in a colony.

In case if the Krasnodar Regional Court fails to decide to abolish the decision of the Tuapse Court to replace the Evgeny Vitishko's conditional sentence with imprisonment, there is a reason to believe that Evgeny Vitishko "will be without any specific delay transferred from a settlement-colony to a common-security penal colony." This was stated by the leader of the "EcoWatch".
