ICRF: casualties of shootout in KBR were members of armed underground

Two persons, who on August 1 were killed during a shootout in the Terek District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), were involved in the armed underground. This was announced by officials from the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 1, in the KBR, two persons were killed as a result of the shootout with the police. On the road Terek-Arik-Kuyan, law enforcers tried to stop a LADA Priora car to check driver's ID. However, people opened fire from the car. The two killed men were identified as residents of the town of Terek, born in 1982 and 1980. Both had several earlier criminal records.

During the examination of the scene, the law enforcers found in the car a TT pistol and a Kalashnikov submachine gun, ammunition and an improvised explosive device (IED).

A criminal case was instituted on an attempt on law enforcers, illegal trafficking of arms and explosive devices.
