Father of sentenced KChR resident complains about falsifications in his son's case

On August 1, Abdul Batchaev, a resident of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), filed a complaint about the action of a staff member of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation. Abdul Batchaev is a father of Rashid Batchaev, who was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in high-security penal colony for involvement in the attack on Dagestan in 1999. Abdul Batchaev believes the staff member of the Russian General Prosecutor's Office failed to properly respond to the demands to investigate the facts of falsification in the case and illegal prosecution of Rashid Batchaev.

In 1997 and 1999, Rashid Batchaev really was in a military camp in Chechnya. However, he was not involved in the combat operations. And on the eve of an armed invasion in Dagestan, he was at home, in the KChR, and numerous witnesses could confirm that fact. This was stated by the father of the sentenced man.

Yet on February 25, 2013, Konstantin Mudunov, an advocate of Rashid Batchaev, filed a complaint to the General Prosecutor's Office about the actions of prosecutors. The advocate believes they contributed to the falsification of the criminal case. On May 19, 2014, Konstantin Mudunov filed a second complaint. However, both complaints were dismissed.

On August 1, Abdul Batchaev and Konstantin Mudunov filed one more complaint to the Russian General Prosecutor's Office, requesting to recognize unlawful the actions and the decision of the prosecutor, who failed to respond to their complaint about the falsification of the case.
