OSCE confirms shelling of border checkpoint in Rostov Region

Staff members of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) have confirmed that on August 3, the border checkpoint "Gukovo" in the Rostov Region was twice shelled from the Ukrainian territory.

The shell has exploded at the border checkpoint "Gukovo" in the Rostov Region. No one was injured. This has been reported today by the Border Guard Service of the Russian FSB for the Rostov Region. According to the Border Guard Service, the shell came from Ukraine.

"Our staff members on site have reported that during the day, they heard the sound of artillery fire and shelling and two shells fell on the territory of the border checkpoint in Gukovo," OSCE Spokesman Shiv Sharma has reported.

Shiv Sharma has also noted that according to the preliminary information, "that was likely a result of fighting between the Ukrainian army and the rebels. However, we cannot say who has fired the shells and from what point."

According to the Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the territory of Russia is allegedly shelled by fighters of the self-proclaimed Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LNR and DNR). They allegedly do that to blame the Ukrainian side.
