Krasnodar ecologist Evgeny Vitishko released from dungeon, his supporters report
In the settlement-colony in the Tambov Region, Evgeny Vitishko, a Krasnodar ecologist, has been released from the dungeon (punishment cell). This was reported by the ecologist's supporters in the late evening of August 3.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the transfer of Evgeny Vitishko to the punishment cell became known on July 31. According to the ecologist's supporters, the administration of the penitentiary institution has decided to subject Evgeny Vitishko to the disciplinary measures.
"Today, at 8:15 p.m., Evgeny came out of the punishment cell. The pretext for his punishment was the fact that he allegedly stored canned goods in a bag. The punishment was initiated by a public prosecutor, who came to investigate the complaints filed by Evgeny Vitishko," the ecologist's supporters wrote on his Facebook page in the evening of August 3.
"When placed to the punishment cell, Evgeny at once went on a hunger strike. And at present, he is still on hunger strike," the ecologist's supporters wrote in their statement.
Earlier, the human rights defenders have noted that during his stay in the settlement-colony, Evgeny Vitishko got several reprimands and filed to the Prosecutor's Office at least three complaints about violation of his rights.
