FSB: more than 400 Ukrainian soldiers seek refuge in Rostov Region

At night on August 4, in the Rostov Region, Russian border guards opened a humanitarian corridor for 438 Ukrainian soldiers, who sought refuge. This was announced by Vasily Malaev, Spokesperson of the Border Guard Service of the Russian FSB for the Rostov Region.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening of August 2, 12 Ukrainian soldiers approached the Russian border checkpoint "Gukovo" on the border between the Donetsk Region of Ukraine and the Rostov Region of Russia. The Ukrainian soldiers sought refuge. According to Vasily Malaev, a group of Ukrainian soldiers entered the neutral zone under a white flag.

In a little more than one day, other 438 Ukrainian soldiers followed the example of their colleagues. According to Vasily Malaev, their number includes 164 Ukrainian border guards.

Till present, the Ukrainian authorities refrain from commenting on the information.
