180 militaries get back to Ukraine from Rostov Region

180 out of 438 Ukrainian servicemen, who got at night to the territory of the Rostov Region, have returned to their homeland, said Vasily Malaev, the head of the press service of the Rostov Regional Border Guard Service of the FSB. The soldiers were delivered to the Ukrainian party at the checkpoint "Matveev Kurgan", which is contiguous with the Ukrainian checkpoint "Uspenka", the ITAR-TASS reports.

As stressed today at a briefing by Andrei Lysenko, the Speaker of the Information Centre of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC), the militaries, who got onto the Russian territory during the retreat from the pre-border areas, did not request any political asylum in Russia.

Ukrainian officials confirm that some of the militaries involved in the antiterrorist operation (ATO) had to seek help from the Russian party. This was stated by Alexei Dmitrashkovsky, the speaker of the press centre of the ATO in Donbas. According to his story, soldiers of Brigade 72 split into two parts: one broke through the encirclement of the militias of the breakaway republics; and the other was covering them.

"Then, one of the parts was out of ammo and supplies; the military equipment that was on the battlefield was damaged. Thereafter, they had to leave for the area near the Russia's checkpoint," said Dmitrashkovsky as quoted by the "RBC-Ukraine".

"The Ukrainian party is doing everything possible to bring our servicemen home," the "RBC-Ukraine" further quotes the press centre of the ATO.
