In Moscow, "Yabloko" activists hold picket demanding to investigate into Timur Kuashev's death

On August 4, Nikolai Kavkazsky and Maria Efimova, activists of the youth wing of the "Yabloko" Party, held a solo picket in front of the Mission of Kabardino-Balkaria in Moscow. The activists demanded to investigate the murder of Timur Kuashev, a journalist and social activist. Sergey Mitrokhin, the leader of the "Yabloko" Party, has said that he insists on institution of criminal proceedings.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Timur Kuashev disappeared in the evening of July 31. On August 1, the journalist's body was found in a suburb of Nalchik. The forensic examination has revealed no signs of a violent death, and the journalist's relatives agreed to the autopsy. The results have not been reported yet. On August 2, the journalist was buried, and the funeral ceremony was attended by about 200 people.

Activists of the youth wing of the "Yabloko" Party believe that Timur Kuashev, a candidate for deputy from the "Yabloko" Party in Kabardino-Balkaria, was murdered.

"Timur received threats. It is absolutely clear that there was a murder. We are indignant about the fact that the Investigating Committee refuses to initiate criminal proceedings," the official website of the "Yabloko" Party quotes activists Nikolai Kavkazsky and Maria Efimova as saying at the solo picket.
