In Dagestan, policeman killed in car shelling
Today, in the Shamil District of Dagestan, unidentified attackers opened fire at a car with a policeman inside, who died from the received wounds, the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.
An UAZ car was shelled by unidentified persons at about 1:30 p.m. Moscow time on the motor road Golotl-Teletl. The policeman, who was in the car, has died.
After the incident, the whole staff of the Shamil ROVD (District Interior Division) was alerted; an operative-investigative group was sent to study the venue; and activities were initiated to find and detain the attackers, the official website of the local MIA reports today.
The casualty was a district policeman from the local police unit. His murder is being investigated under the articles of an attempt on the life of a law enforcer and illegal arms circulation (Articles 317 and 222 of the Russian Criminal Code), says the website of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
