March in support of Levon Airapetyan in Yerevan was 300 people strong

Today, the capital of Armenia has hosted a march in support of the arrested Armenian businessman Levon Airapetyan. More than 300 persons demanded change his freedom restriction measure and to release him from custody, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 15, the 65-year-old Armenian philanthropist Levon Airapetyan was detained at a Moscow airport on suspicion of embezzlement and laundering of illegally obtained money. On July 17, the court ruled to arrest him for two months.

The organizers of the today's action in Yerevan have addressed their letters to the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian and Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin, stating that Airapetyan suffers of a number of diseases.

The marchers have demanded from Andreasyan to make a statement in support of the Armenian citizen, since his advocates are reporting every day that Levon Airapetyan's health condition is increasingly deteriorating.
