After Presidents' meeting in Sochi, Karabakh conflict parties claim ceasefire violation
Armenia and Azerbaijan have claimed new cases of violations of the ceasefire in the conflict zone. The claims have been made after the meeting of the Presidents of both countries and Vladimir Putin which took place in Sochi.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD), the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire on August 10 and this morning. According to the Armenian MoD, during the above period, 31 incidents occurred at the border, and in total, more than 600 shots were fired to the Armenian positions.
Armenian soldiers started return fire six times and made 889 shots, the Armenian MoD reports. No Armenian suffered as a result of shootouts, the "Aysor.am" reports with reference to the Armenian MoD.
In its turn, the Azerbaijani side has claimed that yesterday and today, the opposing side has violated the truce 59 times.
Let us remind you that since late July, the sides to the Karabakh conflict almost daily reports on deaths of soldiers on the front line and accuse each other of sabotage actions. Representatives of the OSCE, the EU, the USA and Russia express their concern over the escalation of the conflict.
