In Ingushetia, investigators combine cases on shelling of soldiers and on local resident's murder

The criminal case on the attack on soldiers, in which one person was killed, and another one was wounded, and the case on the murder of Rustam Azhigov, a resident of the village of Plievo of the Nazran District, have been combined into one case. Investigators believe that both crimes were committed by members of one of the illegal armed formations (IAFs).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 27, in the village of Yandare of the Nazran District of Ingushetia, unidentified persons, who moved in a car, shelled soldiers from automatic firearms. One soldier died from the wounds, and another one was wounded. On the following day, in the village of Plievo, a local resident Rustam Azhigov was killed by gunfire opened from inside a car.

"The criminal cases were combined into one case because of the information received. Besides, the other reason for combining these criminal cases is associated with similar types of firearms used in both attacks: Kalashnikov submachine guns of 5.45 mm and 7.62 mm calibres," reported Umar Gorchkhanov, Acting Senior Assistant Head of the Investigating Department for Media Relations.

At present, investigators have identified one of the suspects. The suspected criminal is a resident of Ingushetia; and he has been put on the wanted list.
