In Dagestan, court extends Isa Abdulkadyrov's arrest by one month

The court has extended for one month the arrest of Isa Abdulkadyrov, a resident of the village of Nechaevka, suspected of illegal possession of weapons, his advocate Arsen Radjabov reports. In connection with the publication by the "Caucasian Knot" of the Isa Abdulkadyrov's complaints about use of force against him, the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan has conducted an inspection. However, no decision on its results has been made yet.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 10, in the village of Nechaevka of the Kizilyurt District, law enforcers detained Isa Abdulkadyrov, a local resident. According to the law enforcers, weapon was found in his house. The detainee's relatives have claimed that the weapon had been planted to him.

Earlier, a source from the Kizilyurt police has reported that investigators also check Isa Abdulkadyrov under Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (aiding and abetting members of illegal armed formations (IAFs)). The Article stipulates the maximum penalty of 10 years of imprisonment.

Advocate Arsen Radjabov has stated that he had repeatedly appealed to the Kizilyurt Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and to the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan with the information that his client had been subjected to violence.
