Karabakh conflict parties exchange accusations of ceasefire violations
On August 12-13, the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire on the contact line for about 55 times, the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh reports. In its turn, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has accused the opposing side of violation of the truce.
On August 12 and at night of August 13, the Armenian troops were shelling the Azerbaijani side from the positions deployed on the nameless heights and in villages of the Agdam and Goranboy Districts, the website of Azerbaijani MoD reports.
Both sides reported on the suppression of attacks by return fire.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported on the growing tension at the contact line of the armed forces starting from late July. Since then, the sides to the conflict almost daily reported deaths of soldiers on the front line and accused each other of sabotage actions.
On August 10, in Sochi, at the trilateral summit of Presidents of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, Vladimir Putin, Serzh Sargsyan, and Ilham Aliev stated that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be solved by peaceful means only.
