Dagestan: Nurmagomedov's advocate and relatives cannot find his whereabouts

Akhmed Nurmagomedov, a resident of the village of Ameterkmakhi of the Akusha District of Dagestan has been detained by law enforcers after a search of the house, and his whereabouts is still unknown, advocate Israfil Gadadov reports. The police have confirmed the conduct of the search.

The search was conducted in the morning of August 14, and after that Akhmed Nurmagomedov, born in 1979, was taken away by policemen, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Israfil Gadadov, an advocate from the Dagestani Bar Association "Kavkaz". According to the advocate, the detainee's relatives reported that a pistol allegedly found during the search had been planted by the policemen.

At the Akusha ROVD (District Interior Division), the advocate has been informed that the detainee was not ever brought to the ROVD, but he was immediately taken away to Makhachkala to the CCE (Centre to Combating Extremism of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) – note of the "Caucasian Knot"). Officials from the CCE have also stated that Akhmed Nurmagomedov is not being kept at their place.

"After that, I filed a complaint to the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office with the request to assist in finding the detainee," Israfil Gadadov has noted.

According to the on duty unit of the ROVD, the searched has been conducted in a house of one of the residents of the village of Ameterkmakhi; however, Akhmed Nurmagomedov has never been brought to the Akusha ROVD.
