In Moscow, office of "Enlightenment" Foundation is being searched

In Moscow, the office of the "Enlightenment" Foundation, where on Friday, Muslims gathering for prayer had been detained, is being searched, and staff members of the Department to Combat Extremism are searching for explosives there. This was reported by Valentina Chupik, the head of the migration programmes of the international non-commercial organization "TONG JAHONI".

Today, in Moscow, at the office of "Enlightenment" Foundation, at least one hundred Muslims have been detained by law enforcers, an eyewitness of the incident reports. According to one of the detainees, he and other Muslims were brought to the "Ryazan" police station. Officials from the on duty unit of the police station have denied the information.

About half of the detainees are foreigners, including citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan; however, this information has not been confirmed yet, said Valentina Chupik. She has added that the number of detainees may also include citizens of Ukraine.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told at the Moscow GOVD (Chief Interior Division) that they are not aware of the detentions carried out.
