In Vladikavkaz, participants of symposium "Alanika" present projects on culture of Northern Caucasus
In Vladikavkaz, the art symposium "Alanika" and the Forum of Young Artists of Northern Caucasus "ART CAUCASUS NEXT" has finished with the exhibition of works, most of which were devoted to the interpretation of the culture of the peoples of Northern Caucasus.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the symposium "Alanika" was held starting from on August 1, and its main idea sounded like "Heat of Quilt". The projects were aimed to explore the concepts of "gaps" in the system of human values and the "breaks" in the space of the past that influenced the formation of the post-Soviet visual culture.
Besides, on August 5-15, the symposium "Alanika" held the 3rd Forum of Young Artists of Northern Caucasus "ART CAUCASUS NEXT". The Forum was supervised by Rostan Tavasiev, a conceptual artist and a nominee of the "Innovation" Award (Moscow). The theme was titled "The Future", and the Forum presented works for other 20 young artists from North Ossetia, Chechnya, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, and the Krasnodar Territory.
Actual problems associated with the formation of contemporary art space in Northern Caucasus became the main issues discussed at the symposium "Alanika 2014" on August 12 and 13.
According to Teimuraz Mamsurov, the leader of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the local youth showed high interest in the event. In his turn, Nikolai Khlyntsov, an initiator of the symposium, has said that the symposium "Alanika" is developing year by year.
