Defence of Zarema Khadjirokova claims authorities of Adygea put pressure on court

In Adygea, at the court hearing in the case against Zarema Khadjirokova, the former Chief Accountant of the Maikop State Technological University, the court has listened to the second public prosecutor, the Assistant Prosecutor of Adygea. The defence treats the decision to engage the second public prosecutor in the case as pressure from the Adyg authorities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 5, 2013, Zarema Khadjirokova was sentenced to 3.5 years of conditional sentence on the charge of embezzlement on a large scale. In April 2014, the woman was detained again on the initiative of the investigator, who considered the first criminal case against her.

"My client has challenged the prosecutor of Adygea, since earlier, the Assistant Prosecutor had questioned Zarema Khadjirokova on the complaints filed by her concerning the facts of embezzlement. And that was he, who took explanations from Zarema Khadjirokova, and for three years, no inspection had ever took place," stated advocate Lyudmila Alexandrova.

In the case against Zarema Khadjirokova, the public prosecution is represented by the City Prosecutor's Office, explained an official from the Prosecutor's Office of Adygea. Meanwhile, prosecutors see no interest in the fact that the public prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Adygea might be engaged in consideration of the case against Zarema Khadjirokova.

The next court hearing on the Zarema Khadjirokova's case is scheduled for August 25, an official from the Maikop City Court reports.
