Dagestan: policemen put physical pressure on detainee Akhmed Nurmagomedov, his advocate asserts

Israfil Gadadov, an advocate from the Bar Association "Kavkaz", who represents the interests of Akhmed Nurmagomedov, a resident of the village of Ameterkmakhi, Akusha District of Dagestan, who was detained on August 14 after a search conducted in his house (a pistol was found), managed to meet his client. According to the advocate, Akhmed Nurmagomedov is kept at the police station.

Earlier it was reported that the advocate could not find Nurmagomedov's whereabouts.

"Akhmed Nurmagomedov said that he was exposed both to physical and psychological pressure," said Israfil Gadadov.

According to the advocate, Akhmed Nurmagomedov said that he was forced "to tell that the planted pistol was his, or to defame someone; then the pistol could be treated as a traumatic one."

Israfil Gadadov associates the detention of Akhmed Nurmagomedov with his plan to build a medrese in his village on a land plot claimed by the other villagers.
