In Dagestan, court arrests Akhmed Nurmagomedov for two months

In Dagestan, the Akusha District Court has pronounced its decision to arrest Akhmed Nurmagomedov, a local resident, suspected of illegal possession of weapons, for two months, his advocate reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 14, Akhmed Nurmagomedov was detained by law enforcers after the search conducted in his house and the seizure of a pistol. Israfil Gadadov, an advocate from the Bar Association "Kavkaz", who represents the detainee's interests, has claimed that he could not reveal the whereabouts of his client. On August 15, the advocate managed to visit his client, who was kept at the police station for the Akusha District.

According to Israfil Gadadov, the court has failed to take into account the facts that the case contains no evidence against his client and that Akhmed Nurmagomedov has no earlier criminal records and he is not going to hide from investigators.

"The investigators have 10 days to file a charge against Akhmed Nurmagomedov. If they fail to do it, the person arrested should be released," said Israfil Gadadov.

Earlier, the advocate has reported that Akhmed Nurmagomedov was subjected to physical pressure from the police.
