Editor-in-chief of "Derbent Izvestia" was not seriously injured at attack on him

The attack committed by unidentified persons on Magomed Khanmagomedov, the editor-in-chief of the "Derbent Izvestia" newspaper did not result in serious injuries, Khanmagomedov himself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, adding that, in his opinion, the attack had to do with the fact that he is a supporter of the head of the Derbent District Kurban Kurbanov.

On August 20, Khanmagomedov reported an attack on him committed by two unidentified persons. The incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. Moscow time in Derbent. According to the editor, there were two attackers, whom he had never seen before.

According to Khanmagomedov, he filed a complaint about the attack to the police; and is currently investigation activities are underway.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 23 the head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov announced his intention to replace Kurban Kurbanov the head of the Derbent District. On August 8, some unidentified people, who presented themselves as employees of the department for combating economic crimes of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), confiscated documents from the district administration; and completely paralyzed, according to Kurban Kurbanov, the work of his entire administration.
