Abkhazian authorities invite observers from over 20 countries to presidential election

More than 20 countries have agreed to send their observers to the upcoming early election of the President of Abkhazia, announced Galina Stranichkina, the Chief Adviser to the Speaker of the Abkhaz Parliament. In particular, Russia, South Ossetia, Transdnistria, and Nagorno-Karabakh are to send their delegations.

According to Galina Stranichkina, the Abkhaz Parliament and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) have sent more than 80 invitations to different countries and received positive responses from representatives of 23 states, the agency "Apsnypress" reports.

The Russian side was one of the first who accepted the invitation, and Russia is to delegate to the election representatives of the Central Election Commission (CEC), the Federation Council, and the State Duma.

South Ossetia will be represented by MPs and members of the national CEC, and the unrecognized Transdnistrian and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic by members of the Supreme Council and the National Assembly, respectively.

"Besides, observers from Armenia, China, Japan, Italy, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Brazil, France, Finland, the Republic of San Marino, Nauru, Lithuania, Germany, and Great Britain also intend to arrive in Abkhazia," Galina Stranichkina has emphasized.
