In the territory of North Ossetia, law enforcers found a hiding with weapons, ammunition, and explosives. The hiding was found during the investigation into the case of actions of the grouping led by Aslan Gagiev, stated Vladimir Markin, the Spokesman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

At night of August 13, in the Moscow Region, law enforcers detained suspected members of the criminal grouping, who had been earlier put on the international and federal wanted lists. According to investigators, the criminal grouping has committed a series of murders of law enforcers and government officials of North Ossetia. The criminal grouping was allegedly led by Aslan Gagiev, a native of Georgia.

On August 18, the hiding was found due to the testimony given by one of the members of the criminal grouping. He has pointed to a garage in one of the villages in North Ossetia.

"During the inspection of the garage, law enforcers found and seized seven barrels buried in the inspection pit. At the moment of the inspection, the hiding contained weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs)," the ICRF's website reports.

Vladimir Markin has stated that according to the investigators, the criminal grouping led by Aslan Gagiev was involved in a number of resonant murders. Thus, members of the grouping assassinated Vitaly Karaev, the Mayor of Vladikavkaz, and Kazbek Pagiev, the former Mayor of Vladikavkaz. Some of the members of the criminal grouping have been detained, some others have been eliminated; however, Aslan Gagiev is still in the international and federal wanted lists.
