Car of "Nuzhnaya Gazeta" editor shelled in Abkhazia

On Friday, in Sukhumi, a car belonging to Izida Chaniya, an editor of the newspaper "Nuzhnaya Gazeta" (Needed Newspaper), has been shelled by unidentified persons, reported Raul Lolua, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs.

The incident occurred near the newspaper office in Academician Sakharov Street in the city centre. The parked car was shelled from automatic weapons, and it got a lot of holes, the ITAR-TASS reports.

In connection with the incident, law enforcers have announced the "Interception" plan, and blocked entrances and exits in the city, the "Apsnypress" reports with reference to the Abkhaz Minister of Internal Affairs.
