KChR: state of emergency in Novokuvinsk lifted

On Friday, the state of emergency has been lifted in the aul (village) of Novokuvinsk of the Adyge-Khabl District of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), and gas supply has been restored, stated Mukhadin Darmilov, the head of the Department for Civil Defence and Emergencies of the district administration.

On August 19, in the Adyge-Khabl and Nogai Districts of the KChR, social facilities and private households suffered from strong blasts of wind and hail: windows were shattered, and roofs ripped off the houses, and power lines were damaged. By the evening on August 21, the emergency repair works were finished in the Nogai District and were still underway in the Adyge-Khabl District. Residents of the aul of Novokuvinsk claimed the disaster inflicted substantial damage.

"At present, all the houses are supplied with electricity and gas," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by the head of the Department for Civil Defence and Emergencies. The local residents have confirmed the information on the resumption of gas supply.
