In Rostov Region, nine soldiers perished, HRC reports
According to the Presidential Council for Civil Society Institutions and Human Rights (HRC), in the Rostov Region, nine soldiers perished in the vicinities of the military training ground. So far, no official confirmation of the information about the soldiers' deaths is available.
The soldiers' deaths resulted from the incidents that occurred on August 9 and 11. The report on the incidents was received by Sergey Krivenko and Ella Polyakova, members of the HRC. On August 25, the above information was sent to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
According to Sergey Krivenko and Ella Polyakova, the members of the HRC, all the victims were contract soldiers of the 18th Motorized Rifle Brigade.
Most of the deceased soldiers are natives of Dagestan. This was reported by the website "Realarmy", created with the support of the community of human rights organizations "Citizen and Army".
"The members of the HRC have sent an online appeal to the Military Investigating Department of the ICRF (MID of the ICRF) with the request to check the information," the human rights defenders have emphasized.
