Armenian NGOs raise 10,000 US dollars to help Iraqi Yazidis

In Armenia, the Yazidi National Association "Sinjar" and the Yazidi National Committee have raised 10,000 US dollars to help the Yazidis of northern Iraq, who suffered from clashes with radical groupings, the public organizations report.

In Iraq, members of the Yazidi ethnic group are being regularly attacked by fighters of radical groupings. In recent weeks, the frequency of attacks has increased significantly. In August, Armenia and Georgia held actions requiring helping the Yazidis.

On August 27, a group of six persons, consisting of members of the Yazidi National Association "Sinjar" is to fly from Yerevan. The delegates are to deliver humanitarian aid to the Yazidis, Iraqi refugees, to the Turkish-Iraqi border.

"Being at the place, we will also be able to gather the information about human victims and material losses of the Yazidis," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Boris Murazi, the Chair of the "Sinjar" Board.
