Two suspected militants killed in Dagestan

Last night, in the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, a shootout occurred. As a result, law enforcers killed two suspected militants, stated a source in the law enforcement bodies.

According to the source, the armed clash occurred at about 3:00 a.m. in a wooded area near the village of Matseevka.

"Two members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), suspected members of the 'Khasavyurt' criminal grouping, have been eliminated," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the source as stating.

While conducting the operational and search activities, policemen encountered a grouping of militants, the "Interfax" reports.

The fight has ended very quickly, the RIA "Dagestan" reports with reference to its source in the law enforcement bodies. "Law enforcers had accurate information about the location of the militants," the source has stated.

The press service of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has confirmed the information about the shootout. The Dagestani MIA's press service has also emphasized that none of the law enforcers was injured, the "ITAR-TASS" reports.
