North Ossetia: Muftiyat starts fundraising to help Gamzatov's family

In North Ossetia, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) has appealed to the public with request to help the family members of murdered Imam Rasul Gamzatov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 16, Rasul Gamzatov, the Deputy Mufti of North Ossetia and the Imam of the central mosque of Vladikavkaz, was murdered in Vladikavkaz. According to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), attackers made at least seven shots to the Imam.

Rasul Gamzatov left five children, and his wife is waiting for the birth of the sixth child; however, the family does not have own housing, and the SAM of North Ossetia announced raising money to purchase an apartment and support the children of the murdered Imam, stated Khadjimurat Gatsalov, the Mufti of North Ossetia.

He called the murder of Rasul Gamzatov a vile act that shocked souls and minds of believers. According to Khadjimurat Gatsalov, the murderers of Rasul Gamzatov should be sought among the "enemies of Allah."

According to the "Caucasian Knot" calculations, Rasul Gamzatov became the fourth Muslim leader assassinated in Northern Caucasus since the beginning of 2014 and the fortieth since 2009.
