Georgian Health Ministry sends delegation to help Ukraine

Today, experts of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia have left for Ukraine to address the issue to provide humanitarian assistance to the country, stated David Sergeenko, the Georgian Minister of Health. In particular, Georgian doctors are to help in providing medical treatment to the wounded persons in Donbas.

"In the course of consultations with our Ukrainian colleagues, we decided that several specialists will arrive in the place and analyze what kind of help is needed," David Sergeenko has told the journalists.

Among the options for assistance to Ukraine, the Georgian authorities are considering the possibility to deliver medicines to Kiev and to receive in Georgia affected residents of Ukraine in need for medical treatment, the "Georgia-News" reports.

Meanwhile, the opposition "United National Movement" (UNM) Party believes that the Georgian authorities fail to care enough for Ukraine.

"Members of our party have made the specific proposal to provide assistance by receiving children from Ukraine. They are in need of this kind of help; however, the government still fails to take any steps in this direction...," the "Echo of the Caucasus" quotes Davod Darchiashvili, a Georgian MP from the UNM Party.
