In Sochi, Lavrikov family challenge court decision to move them to "Olympic" housing

In Sochi, Lavrikov family members have challenged the decision of the Krasnodar Regional Court to grant the request of the Sochi city administration to transfer the Lavrikov family members to "Olympic" housing. The appeal has been filed against the court's decision to evict four adults from the dilapidated house to a one-room apartment in a building for "Olympic" settlers.

According to the Lavrikov family members, the housing provided to them by the Sochi city administration at the "Olympic" building is of smaller living place than their current apartment in the dilapidated house located in Esaulenko Street.

"We do not agree with the fact that they are going to settle all of us into a single cell together with older children. I and my wife sacrificed our lives for the benefit of our city. I worked at the Research Institute for a long time, and I am a veteran of labour. It's a fault of the Sochi city administration that our house has become dilapidated, since officials allowed to carry out construction works on landslide-prone slopes. Why should we suffer? I believe that at present, the Sochi city administration has started evicting us, since the land plot under our house attracted some developer, and the officials want to vacate the house," stated Boris Lavrikov, a veteran of labour, a former staff member of the Research Institute for Balneology and Physiotherapy.

The Regional Court is to consider the appeal filed by the Lavrikov family members on September 4.
