Residents of Chechnya express their concern over growth of prices for meat and dairy products
In Chechnya, the markets raise prices for some food products. According to the Chechen Department of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), over the recent week, prices for meat, sausages and dairy products rose by 5-20 percent. Local residents have expressed their concern about the above price growth, and they are afraid of food shortages.
In his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, a staff member of the Chechen Department of the Russian FAS has noted that the growth of prices for meat and dairy products on the territory of Chechnya can be primarily associated with the growth of purchase prices from wholesalers. However, the official has promised no sharp increase in food prices.
Meanwhile, residents of Chechnya express their serious concern over the increase in prices for some food products. According to some Chechen residents, the republic may face the growth of prices in connection with the introduction of Russian embargo on certain types of foreign products.
